A regular haunt is Ohnamiya, that bustling little restaurant in Kearns Crescent. A simple but imaginative a la carte menu, or the bento boxes with numerous permutations for the light snack or the hearty dinner.
Every time we come here its packed. Packed with diners and packed with those waiting for take-aways. Everything on the menu is available for takeaway, but why bother. The food has always been as expected from a Japanese restaurant, fresh, tasty and totally enjoyable.
We started with a mix sashimi together with a seared tuna and sweet onion dish. Both delicious, fresh and utterly moorish.
Suzy had the terriyaki fish deluxe box complete with a few pieces of sushi roll, a cold chicken salad entree, succulent deep fried fish smothered in a sweet stciky terriyaki sauce. My main was similar but more hearty with beef, rice and pickles.
All in all anther good affordable meal from Ohnamiya.
Our rating 4 / 5. For me, definitely a two-thumbs up !
