On a recent drive up to Rockingham we called into Rustico for light lunch to see what all the hype was about. Rustico, a 2012 Gold Plate award winner was packed, inside and out, midweek for lunch! A good sign I thought, and perusing the tables of food, a treat was in store for us.
A little slow with the wait staff, but then it is still the Christmas holiday week and so I guess they are down on numbers.
The tapas menu is quite extensive with something for everyone. Veggy dishes, seafood, poultry and all manner of combinations and tasting plates were available as well a number of chefs specials written up on the chalk board. In addition, salads, paella and pizzas adorn the menu making sure no one goes hungry.
The food is well presented, colourful exciting and totally delicious. The two of us shared 4 mains tapas dishes which accompanied with bread and toasted french bread was plenty for lunch.
Wild mushrooms with sherry cream and sourdough.
Scallops and grilled chorizo with pear puree and candied jamon
Sizzling creamy garlic prawns with chilli
Pickled octopus with tangerine and fried jalapenos.
We had a fabulous lunch and will definitely return. Bookings essential !
Lunch + drinks for two – $95, Definitely 4.5/5, two big thumbs up !
There is no food at Tamworth that looks as delightful as that but we will keep on searching for it.

Exceptional post however I was wanting to know if you could write a litte more
on this topic? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit further.
Cheers!
